Zimbabwe has accepted PCB’s invite after Afghanistan’s refusal

Lahore: Zimbabwe Cricket has accepted the Pakistan Cricket Board’s invitation to participate in a T20I tri-series also featuring Sri Lanka.

The Pakistan Cricket Board earlier contacted the Zimbabwe Cricket Board as a replacement team, after the Afghanistan Cricket Board withdrew from the tri-nation series in Pakistan. According to PCB the option of a third team was being discussed.

The tri-nation series is scheduled to be staged in Rawalpindi and Lahore from 17 to 29 November..

It should be noted that the Afghanistan Cricket Board recently announced its withdrawal from the tri-nation series in Pakistan in November after border clashes between the two countries took place. After the statement of the Afghanistan Board, the Pakistan Cricket Board also issued a statement saying that the tri-nation T20 series will be held as per its schedule.

It should be noted that this series of T20 tournaments in Pakistan is scheduled from November 17 to 29, the tri-nation series includes the teams of Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Earlier, a tri-nation series was played between Pakistan, Afghanistan and the UAE in the United Arab Emirates, in which Pakistan defeated Afghanistan by 75 runs in the final to win the series.
