Widespread rain and snowfall forecast across Pakistan

Web Desk: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast widespread rain accompanied by strong winds in various parts of the country on Monday (today) and snowfall is expected in mountainous regions. According to the PMD, the changing weather system may affect daily life, especially in hilly and northern areas.

Smog and fog are likely to continue in upper Sindh and eastern Punjab, which may reduce visibility during morning and night hours. The authorities have advised the motorists to drive with caution in affected areas.

Rain along with snowfall in the mountains is expected in Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. Similar weather conditions are forecast for upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Chitral, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Malakand, Buner, and Kohistan in these areas snowfall on higher peaks may lead to cold conditions and slippery roads.

The PMD has also predicted rain and snowfall in Mansehra, Battagram, Abbottabad, Haripur, Bajaur, Mohmand, Orakzai, and Khyber districts. And, Attock, Jhelum, Murree, and the Galiyat are likely to receive rain accompanied by strong winds.

Authorities have advised residents and travelers in hilly areas to remain cautious, as snowfall and rain may disrupt traffic and increase the risk of landslides in vulnerable regions.
