The former cricketer says he believes it would be better for Shaniera to perform Umrah first.
Former Pakistan cricket captain Wasim Akram’s wife, Shaniera Akram, did not accompany him to perform Hajj.
Wasim Akram recently appeared on Maliha Rehman’s podcast with his wife, where he revealed that many people on social media had been asking him why Shaniera did not accompany him for Hajj.
According to the former cricketer, he believes it would be better for Shaniera to perform Umrah first so that she can understand the experience and the rituals. After that, the two can perform Hajj together in the future.
Shaniera Akram also clarified on the occasion that she wanted Wasim Akram to focus completely on this special spiritual journey and did not want her presence to distract him in any way.
She said this does not mean that she will not perform Hajj with Wasim in the future. Rather, she hopes that, God willing, the two will perform Hajj together one day.
Wasim Akram described his Hajj experience as wonderful and said that it was a birthday gift for him.
