Weather update: Meterologists forecast heavy rains ahead

Heavy rain in Islamabad

Peshawar: The Meteorological Department has forecast rain in various parts of the country and snowfall in the northern regions over the next few days.


Weather experts have predicted rainfall in Punjab and Islamabad from April 6 to 9. The affected areas include Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal, Sargodha, Mianwali, Khushab, Faisalabad, Lahore, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Narowal, and Sheikhupura.


A new western weather system is expected to enter the western districts of Balochistan on the evening of April 5, likely affecting the northern areas until April 9.


Rainfall is expected in Balochistan’s districts of Panjgur, Gwadar, Pasni, Turbat, Khuzdar, Kalat, Quetta, and Zhob from April 5 to 7. Other areas, including Barkhan, Lasbela, Kohlu, and Naseerabad, are also likely to experience rain.


In Sindh, rain accompanied by thunderstorms is expected on April 6 in Sukkur, Larkana, Dadu, Jacobabad, and Shikarpur.


In Gilgit-Baltistan, rain along with snowfall in the mountainous regions is expected in the districts of Astore, Skardu, Gilgit, Hunza, Nagar, and Ghizer. Similarly, rain and snowfall are forecasted in Azad Kashmir’s districts of Bagh, Rawalakot, and Neelum Valley.
