Web Desk: A video circulating on social media purportedly shows an Afghan citizen expressing support for Pakistan and its army chief, Syed Asim Munir, while calling for relief from Taliban rule, reflecting frustration among some individuals over the country’s current conditions.

The video, said to be recorded in Nangarhar Province, features a man delivering an emotional message in which he praises Pakistan and its leadership. He also appeals for intervention against the ruling Taliban, blaming the group for hardship and instability in Afghanistan.

Reuters could not independently verify the authenticity of the video or the identity of the individual. However, similar clips have surfaced in recent weeks from other Afghan provinces, including Paktika Province, where individuals have voiced criticism of Taliban authorities and highlighted economic and security challenges.

In one such clip, an Afghan man is seen holding a written note expressing admiration for Pakistan and its military, while in another, a speaker records a message near what appears to be a damaged military vehicle. These videos have gained traction online, prompting debate about public sentiment inside Afghanistan.

Analysts caution that while such videos may indicate pockets of dissatisfaction, they do not necessarily represent broader public opinion. Afghanistan continues to face significant economic strain, security concerns, and international isolation since the Taliban returned to power in 2021.

Meanwhile, officials in Pakistan have not commented on the circulating footage. Observers note that relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan remain complex, shaped by security concerns, cross-border tensions, and diplomatic engagement.

The emergence of such videos underscores ongoing challenges within Afghanistan, where many citizens continue to call for stability, economic opportunity, and improved governance.
