Web Desk: Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi arrived in Tehran on Wednesday for the second time within 24 hours, signaling intensified diplomatic engagement as efforts surrounding US-Iran negotiations continue to draw regional attention.
According to sources familiar with the matter, Naqvi is expected to hold high-level meetings with Iranian leadership to discuss developments linked to ongoing diplomatic efforts between Washington and Tehran.
The visit comes only days after the Pakistani minister’s earlier trip to Iran, during which he met Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, senior negotiator and parliament speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.
Diplomatic sources said Naqvi’s previous discussions with Iranian officials focused on bilateral cooperation and the rapidly evolving situation in the Middle East.
The talks also covered regional stability and broader geopolitical developments amid heightened diplomatic activity involving Iran and the United States.
Pakistan has maintained close communication with regional stakeholders in recent months as tensions and negotiations continue to shape the security environment across the Middle East.
Following his earlier Tehran trip, Naqvi traveled directly to Balochistan, where Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir were also present.
The rapid back-to-back visits as an indication of Pakistan’s growing diplomatic engagement on sensitive regional matters.
The renewed contacts come at a time when international attention remains focused on efforts to revive dialogue between Iran and the United States amid ongoing regional uncertainty.
