Khyber: An exchange of fire has erupted between Pakistani forces and Afghan forces at multiple points along the Pakistan–Afghanistan border when Afghan forces started unprovoked fire ,according to security sources.
In response to TTA’s provocation, the Pakistan Army carried out an effective counter-operation, destroying multiple enemy positions with artillery fire. According to security sources, the swift and coordinated action by Pakistani forces resulted in the complete silencing of TTA positions.
Sources stated that due to heavy retaliatory fire, TTA militants were forced to abandon their positions and flee, while security forces continue search and clearance operations in the area
Sources stated that the cross-border firing is ongoing in District Khyber, particularly in the Bazaar Zakhakhel area at the locations of Maro Sar and Shah Kot Sar.
The firing began at approximately 5:15 PM, security sources confirmed.
No casualties have been reported so far. Further details are awaited.
