Web Desk: US President Donald Trump on Friday praised Pakistan’s leadership after Iran announced the reopening of Hormuz, calling it “a great day for the world.”

In a post on the social media platform X, Trump thanked Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff Syed Asim Munir for their role amid regional developments.

“Thank you Pakistan, thank you Prime Minister, thank you Field Marshal,” Trump wrote, describing Sharif and Munir as “tremendous personalities.”

Moreover, the U.S. president said the development marked a positive moment globally, adding that “today is a great day for the entire world.”

Earlier, Iran signaled the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, a key global oil transit route, easing concerns over potential disruptions to energy supplies and maritime security.

Consequently, the announcement helped calm tensions surrounding one of the world’s most critical shipping lanes, through which a significant portion of global النفط exports pass.

Analysts said Trump’s remarks reflect Washington’s acknowledgment of Pakistan’s diplomatic or strategic role in stabilizing the situation.

In addition, the public praise underscores growing recognition of Islamabad’s engagement in regional security matters at a sensitive time.

As geopolitical dynamics continue to evolve, the reopening of the Strait and the accompanying international reactions point to a cautiously improving outlook for stability in the region.
