KARACHI: The matric exams starting in 2026 will be implementing e-marking. This announcement was made by Sindh’s education boards.
The process of submission of exam forms for classes 9 and 10 will be starting soon. Officials have also revealed the updates to the upcoming exam system at the same time.
According to the new initiative, two to three papers will be evaluated from the e-marking system. The papers will only be taken from classes 9 and 10.
The e-marking software has been supplied by the Federal Board to the Department of Boards and Universities to support this system.
Two or three papers from the intermediate annual examinations will also be evaluated through e-marking next year in all Sindh boards.
Federal Board’s provision of technology and software has been lauded by the Chairpersons of the education boards for promoting major advancement in promoting transparency in the examination process.
Executive Director of the Inter Board Coordination Committee (IBCC), Dr Ghulam Ali Mallah stated that both the evaluation of answer scripts and conduct of examinations will be managed through an IT-based e-marking system.
The Punjab Education Department, in a separate development announced a major change to its academic calendar which will be bringing relief to 2.5 million students.
The Intermediate and Matric Board Exams for 2026 will now be held after Eid-ul-Fitr. Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat approved this decision. This will give much needed relief and extra preparation time to the students.
