Web Desk: Sehar Hayat has leveled serious allegations of physical abuse and financial deception against her former husband, Sami Rasheed, marking a turbulent turn in their high-profile separation.

The accusations surfaced shortly after the couple finalized their divorce, following the recent birth of their daughter. While Rasheed initially attributed the split to Hayat’s alleged refusal to live with his family, Hayat countered those claims with a detailed account of a toxic household environment.

In a series of social media statements, Hayat alleged that Rasheed subjected her to constant verbal and physical abuse. She specifically claimed that Rasheed assaulted her while she was eight months pregnant. Furthermore, she stated that her former husband frequently insulted her profession, calling her a woman of “loose character” and using derogatory terms like “Nachne Wali” in the presence of his family members, who she claims failed to intervene.

Beyond the physical allegations, Hayat described a pattern of financial manipulation dating back to the start of their marriage. According to Hayat, Rasheed originally promised a Haq Mehar—a mandatory Islamic marriage gift—of 20 million rupees. However, she alleges that during the Nikkah ceremony, Rasheed instructed the cleric to record only 500,000 rupees in the official documents while announcing a higher figure of 5 million rupees to those in attendance. Hayat noted that she initially compromised on these terms in an attempt to maintain the stability of the relationship.

In response to the fallout, several high-profile figures within the Pakistani digital creator community have publicly supported Hayat. Fellow influencer Romaisa Khan offered words of encouragement, while content creator Ali Arif expressed well-wishes for Hayat’s daughter. Bushra Iqbal, a prominent CEO and public figure, also sent messages of support to the TikToker as she navigates the legal and social aftermath of the split.

The public feud has sparked intense debate regarding domestic violence and women’s rights within high-profile marriages in Pakistan. While Rasheed continues to maintain that the reasons for the divorce were petty, the gravity of Hayat’s allegations has shifted the focus toward a broader conversation on the safety of women in domestic spaces.
