The Afghan Taliban targeted Pakistani border posts in the Kurram sector with heavy weapons, mortars, and other arms in an unprovoked attack, according to security sources.
Pakistani security forces immediately launched an effective and robust retaliatory operation, targeting multiple Afghan Taliban border posts, mortar positions, and defensive installations with both light and heavy weapons, including artillery, security sources said.
The forces maintained full control of the border areas while delivering a strong response to the enemy’s aggression, the sources added.As a result of the intense retaliatory fire, Afghan Taliban fighters were forced to abandon several positions and retreat, according to security sources.
Security sources further stated that the border situation is being closely monitored, and Pakistani forces remain fully prepared and on high alert to respond swiftly and decisively to any further provocation.
