Web Desk: Pakistani security forces successfully repelled an infiltration attempt by Fitna al-Khwarij militants targeting the Gudwana Enclave in the Zhob Sector late last night, military sources confirmed.
The militants attempted to breach the border under the cover of darkness to launch a coordinated assault on the enclave. However, alert security personnel detected the movement early and responded with precise and effective fire.
The ensuing intense exchange of fire lasted several hours as Pakistani forces launched a decisive counter-offensive. Consequently, the military destroyed several militant posts across the border, inflicting heavy casualties and significant material losses on the Khwarij elements.
Furthermore, security forces have intensified surveillance and patrolling throughout the sector to prevent any follow-up attempts. Sources indicate that the timely intervention prevented a major security breach and forced the surviving attackers to retreat into the rugged terrain.
This latest skirmish underscores the persistent threats posed by Fitna al-Khwarij along the border regions. Despite these provocations, the military remains at a high state of readiness to maintain the integrity of the Zhob Sector and safeguard the frontier.
