The search continues for a 17-year-old girl who recently returned to Pakistan from the United States after completing her degree and went missing in the Saifullah Lake boat accident. The bodies of six people who lost their lives after the boat capsized have been transported to Lahore.
According to details, a rescue operation is underway to locate the missing 17-year-old girl following the horrific boat accident that occurred yesterday at Saifullah Lake in Swat.
Under the supervision of the District Emergency Officer, specialized Rescue 1122 water rescue teams, police, and local volunteers are conducting a search operation at various points of the lake using the latest rescue equipment. Despite deep waters and difficult terrain, every possible effort is being made to locate the missing girl.
So far, 24-year-old Bushra Samoi has not been found. However, Rescue 1122 teams, police, and local volunteers continue the search operation.
The Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has taken strict notice of the incident and sought an immediate report from the relevant authorities.
Meanwhile, the bodies of the six deceased members of the same family have been brought to their hometown of Lahore. According to sources, seven members of the family were on board the boat during their visit to Swat.
Those who lost their lives in the accident include retired Colonel Amir Awan, his 20-year-old son Abdullah Awan, his 23-year-old daughter Ruwail Awan, his 27-year-old daughter Parwa Awan, and Parwa Awan’s one-year-old son.
Family sources said that Bushra Samoi had returned to Pakistan just five days ago after completing her higher education degree in the United States and had travelled to Swat with her family for a recreational trip.
