Web Desk: Russian Embassy in Islamabad have expressed concern over a series of articles in the English-language Pakistani newspaper, the Frontier Post, which they describe as consistently critical of Moscow. They highlighted that the newspaper’s global news operations are based in Washington, suggesting that its editorial choices favor critics of Russian policy and President Vladimir Putin.
Alleged Bias in International Reporting
According to the statement, the international section of the newspaper rarely features content portraying Russia or its leadership positively or neutrally. While respecting freedom of the press, Russian officials claimed that the continuous stream of anti-Russian coverage reflects a political agenda aligned with Western interests rather than unbiased reporting.
Coverage Gaps and Propaganda Concerns
Officials noted that the newspaper ignored the Moscow Format of Consultations held on October 7, 2025, despite significant reporting in local media. They further criticized the editorial team for repeating Western narratives about Russia’s “weak economy” and military vulnerability, arguing that such claims misrepresent Russia’s economic growth, employment stability and recent military advancements.
Russia Highlights Economic and Military Resilience
Citing official figures, Russia reported a 4.1% GDP increase in 2024, manufacturing growth up to 8.5%, a 2.5% unemployment rate and projected 2025 inflation of 6.5–7%. In addition, the successful testing of the Burevestnik cruise missile and the Poseidon underwater vehicle underscores Moscow’s military capabilities.
Call for Balanced Reporting
Russian officials urged Pakistani readers to consult multiple sources and avoid relying solely on publications they claim serve the interests of foreign sponsors.
