WEBDESK: YouTuber Rajab Butt and Ducky Bhai were once close friends, regularly appearing in each other’s videos and attending family events together. Their friendship, however, ended after disputes over a joint project and personal remarks linked to mutual friend Nadeem Nani Wala.
Ducky Bhai, whose real name is Saadur Rehman, was recently arrested in Lahore. He was accused of promoting betting apps and placed on physical remand.
Police officials said the case involves unlawful promotion of gambling platforms targeting young audiences. Authorities confirmed he was detained while attempting to leave the country with his wife. Earlier cases had already been registered against him, adding to the seriousness of the charges.
A judicial magistrate later extended his remand after prosecutors argued they needed more time to investigate.
Rajab Butt’s reaction Ducky Bhai’s arrest
Breaking his silence, Rajab Butt said he understood why action had been taken but questioned the way it was being carried out.
“The law should be the same for everyone,” he said. “We saw betting app logos on PSL jerseys and adverts on national television. Why aren’t agencies going after the big fish?”
He added that many influencers had promoted such apps, but only a few were being singled out. Rajab suggested that smaller creators were easier to arrest and present as examples.
Despite their past differences, he expressed support for Ducky Bhai and wished strength to his family.
The arrest has sparked wide debate on social media. Supporters and critics are arguing over both the legality and morality of such endorsements.
Ducky Bhai, popular for his family-oriented vlogs, has faced controversy before. Recently, he claimed ownership of a luxury home in DHA Raya, said to be worth Rs. 10 crore. The property was later revealed to be rented for Rs. 4 lakh per month, leading to accusations of misleading fans.
