Will it rain in Karachi today?

WEBDESK: Karachi is expected to remain cloudy today on Monday with chances of light drizzle in the evening and night, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).

The Met Office said sea breezes have resumed in the port city, improving the weather. However, due to high humidity, residents may feel increased heat during the day. The maximum temperature in Karachi could reach 34°C. No heavy rainfall is expected in the city this week.

Meanwhile, Punjab is likely to face more rain. The National Emergency Operations Centre of the NDMA has warned of heavy to very heavy rains in Islamabad and different districts of Punjab from Monday to Wednesday.

The NDMA alert includes flood-hit areas such as Lahore, Sialkot, Narowal, Sheikhupura, Chiniot, Sargodha, Bhakkar, Mianwali and Faisalabad. Other districts at risk include Murree, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Attock, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Dera Ghazi Khan, Sahiwal, Multan, Bahawalnagar, Bahawalpur and Rahim Yar Khan.

Officials have warned that heavy rains in the upper areas may sharply increase river flows, especially at Marala Headworks. This could trigger floods in the surrounding regions.
