Web Desk: The Pakistan Meteorological Department has released a new weather forecast for several regions of the country. The department expects partly cloudy weather in Islamabad and the upper areas today. Rain may fall in different locations while some areas may also experience hailstorms.
Clouds will likely cover the twin cities Islamabad and Rawalpindi for most of the day. Thunderstorms may bring rain at different times. Hail may fall in certain places which could quickly lower the temperature.
Several districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa may also receive rain. These districts include Chitral Dir Swat Kohistan Shangla Battagram and Buner. Strong winds and thunderstorms may accompany rainfall in these areas. Malakand Mansehra Abbottabad and Bajaur may also receive showers while hail may occur in a few places.
Weather conditions may also shift in many cities of Punjab. Rain may fall at isolated locations in Rawalpindi Attock Chakwal Mianwali Jhelum Gujrat and Lahore. Gujranwala Murree and the Galiyat region may also receive rain and possible hailstorms.
Murree and Galiyat may experience colder weather during this period. Rain may lower temperatures further at these tourist spots and create cooler conditions.
Authorities urge citizens to follow safety precautions during rain and hailstorms. People should avoid open spaces and unsafe buildings. Farmers should also take steps to protect their crops from possible damage.
Most districts of Sindh and Balochistan will likely experience warm and dry weather. Rain is unlikely in these regions while daytime temperatures may rise.
Weather experts say that rainfall in the upper regions may reduce temperatures and make the weather pleasant. However hail in some areas may damage crops and parked vehicles.
Authorities have also asked local institutions to stay alert. Rainwater may collect in low lying areas and may slow traffic movement. Citizens should therefore remain careful.
