Web Desk: Pakistani Sufi singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and his son Shah Zaman Khan received special honors at the UK Parliament, marking a significant international recognition of their musical contributions.
The award ceremony, held in London, brought together several members of parliament, including Tariq Ahmad, Mohammad Yasin and Afzal Khan. Organizers Kashif Raja and Rubayyat Jahan, a musician couple of Pakistani and Bangladeshi origin, hosted the event to celebrate South Asian musical talent on a global stage.
Earlier in the week, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Shah Zaman Khan performed at the iconic Royal Albert Hall, where they drew widespread acclaim from an enthusiastic audience. The performance underscored their enduring popularity and cross-cultural appeal.
Speaking after receiving the award, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan said the recognition at the UK Parliament was a great honor and credited his success to the prayers of his parents and years of dedication to his craft. He added that he is preparing to release a new song in the Bengali language, a project that has already generated anticipation among fans.
