Punjab govt expands hospitals network in Lahore, tenders issued

The Punjab government has decided to establish more hospitals in Lahore. The Infrastructure Development Authority Punjab (IDAP) has issued tenders for the construction of the hospitals. The tenders have been issued for hospitals under the Nawaz Sharif Medical District project.


A new building for Children’s Hospital-II will be constructed on 99 Kanals of land. The estimated cost of the Children’s Hospital-II project has been set at Rs 23.68 billion.


An Infectious Diseases Hospital will also be established on 18 Kanals within the Nawaz Sharif Medical District. The hospital will be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 34 billion.


Additionally, a Center of Excellence for Nursing Education and Midwifery will be set up on 180 Kanals of land, with an estimated cost of Rs 13 billion.


For the Nawaz Sharif Medical District, 191 acres of land have been allocated in Lahore. The Punjab government has designated land near the Khayaban-e-Amin Interchange on Ring Road for this project.
