A fresh wave of misinformation circulating on certain anti-state social media accounts have been dismissed by sources. They say these accounts have launched a false and misleading narrative following the honourable retirement of Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Sahir Shamshad Mirza.
Sources say the same elements are again pushing a coordinated political agenda. Their aim is to create unrest, confusion, and chaos in the country.
The claims being spread about the events of 9 May are completely false. Officials say the reports are baseless and contradict all verified facts.
According to sources, these anti-state actors do not understand the military’s internal command system. They are deliberately trying to mislead the public.
On 9 May 2023, when PTI mobs attacked state facilities, the Army’s response came strictly through the official chain of command. It followed clear and direct instructions from the Chief of Army Staff.
Officials also underlined that the CJCSC has no operational role. The position does not command operations in the Army or any other service.
This was also the case during the 9 May events. The CJCSC’s office had no part in any operational or institutional instructions.
Any allegation or hint suggesting otherwise is fiction. Sources call it misleading propaganda with no basis in reality.
They say such conspiracy theories only target state institutions and damage national unity.
