Islamabad: The Pakistan Meteorological Department has issued a prediction regarding the Shawwal moon.

According to the department, the Shawwal moon is not expected to be sighted on March 19. However, there is a strong possibility that it will be visible on March 20, which means Eid-ul-Fitr is likely to be celebrated across the country on March 21.

The final announcement will be made by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee after official moon sighting.

Eid-ul-Fitr, which marks the end of the holy month of Ramzan, is celebrated after the sighting of the Shawwal moon. In Pakistan, the official announcement is made by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee after receiving verified testimonies from across the country.

While the Meteorological Department provides scientific calculations and weather-based predictions, the final decision rests with the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee.
