PM Shehbaz Sharif demands soverign Palestinian state for lasting peace

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, while addressing the inaugural session of the Gaza Board of Peace, stated that the people of Palestine must be given full control over their own land and that military operations should come to a halt.

He said that achieving lasting peace in Gaza is their mission. The Prime Minister appreciated the role of U.S. President Donald Trump in efforts toward a ceasefire and expressed hope that Trump’s peace initiatives would succeed.

He added that the Pakistan–India ceasefire helped save thousands of precious lives. Emphasizing the importance of a long-term solution, he stated that the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state is essential for sustainable peace in the region.

He further stressed that the issue of Palestine must be resolved acoording to the UN Security Council resolutions, giving its people their due rights.

It is worth mentioning that President Trump hugged him and both the leaders exchanged inforaml words.

Earlier president Trump had praised PM Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir in his speech.
