Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif contacted the leadership of Bangladesh and Lebanon, as well as the President of Egypt, and extended Eid-ul-Fitr greetings.
The Prime Minister held a telephone conversation with Bangladesh’s Prime Minister Tariq Rahman, conveying warm Eid wishes to him and the people of Bangladesh. During the cordial discussion, he highlighted the long-standing, historic, and brotherly relations between the two countries and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthening bilateral cooperation in all sectors. They also discussed regional developments in South Asia and the situation in the Middle East, emphasizing dialogue and diplomacy to resolve tensions and conflicts.
Prime Minister Tariq Rahman warmly reciprocated the Eid greetings and expressed good wishes for the people of Pakistan.
On the occasion of Eid, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also spoke with Lebanon’s Prime Minister Nawaf Salam and extended Eid greetings. He strongly condemned the ongoing Israeli aggression against Lebanon and expressed full solidarity with the Lebanese government and people during these difficult times. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s consistent support for Lebanon’s unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.
The Prime Minister stressed the need for an immediate de-escalation and underscored the importance of dialogue and diplomacy to restore peace and stability in the region. Both leaders agreed to maintain close contact in the coming days, while also highlighting the long-standing brotherly relations between Pakistan and Lebanon.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also held a telephone conversation with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and extended Eid greetings. President el-Sisi reciprocated with warm wishes for the Prime Minister and the people of Pakistan.
Reaffirming the strong and brotherly ties between Pakistan and Egypt, the Prime Minister reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation across all areas of mutual interest. He also appreciated Egypt’s constructive diplomatic role in regional and international affairs, particularly its significant efforts for peace in the Middle East.
During the conversation, both leaders discussed the evolving situation in Iran and the Gulf region and expressed deep concern over ongoing tensions. They agreed on the need to continue diplomatic efforts to reduce tensions and restore peace and stability in the region.
