Web Desk: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has suspended its flights to Fujairah for the next 48 hours due to security concerns in the Gulf region, the airline said.
A PIA spokesperson said the move is a precautionary measure in response to the current situation.
Flights to Al Ain will continue as scheduled, and the airline will operate only on this route to the United Arab Emirates for the time being. Officials said they are monitoring the situation closely and will adjust flight operations as needed.
The decision comes after a PIA flight from Fujairah to Lahore made an emergency landing in Karachi on Monday night due to a technical issue.
The spokesperson said Flight PK-178 experienced a cabin pressure malfunction. The pilot descended the plane to 10,000 feet and safely landed at Karachi Airport.
PIA engineers worked late into the night to fix the technical problem, ensuring the aircraft is ready for future operations.
The airline emphasized that passenger safety remains its top priority and that all flights will resume once authorities confirm safe operating conditions.
