After a disapppointing outing in Asia Cup 2025, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has suspended No Objection Certificates (NOCs) for all players, restraining them from taking part in foreign T20 leagues.

PCB chief operating officer Sumair Ahmad Syed has already issued a notice to players and their agents, informing them of the move. “With the approval of Chairman PCB, all No Objection Certificates (NOCs) for players with respect to participation in leagues and other out of country tournaments are hereby put on hold until further orders.”

Seven Pakistani players Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf, Shadab Khan, Hasan Ali and Hassan Khanwere set to feature in the Big Bash League (BBL) later this year. In addition, Naseem Shah, Saim Ayub, Fakhar Zaman, and 15 other Pakistan players have also been shortlisted for the ILT20 auction on October 1.

For the unversed, the Pakistani team fought hard, but India dominated the game. In the early stages, Pakistani bowlers and batters showed resilience, but as the match progressed, the pressure began to weigh heavily on the green shirts.

Haris Rauf’s over proved to be a turning point, conceding crucial runs that shifted momentum in India’s favour. Pakistan lost the final to India in a last-over thriller.
