$3 billion financial inflow

Web Desk: Pakistan has completed arrangements to meet its external payment obligations and expects a $3 billion financial inflow from Saudi Arabia soon, officials from the Ministry of Finance said on Tuesday.

Officials said the government will also make timely repayments to the United Arab Emirates within the current month as part of its broader debt management plan.

According to finance ministry sources, Saudi Arabia is expected to transfer $3 billion to the State Bank of Pakistan, a move likely to improve the country’s foreign exchange reserves.

In addition, Pakistan is in discussions with other friendly countries to secure further financial assistance, officials added, as the government works to maintain external account stability.

The developments come as Pakistan faces nearly $4.8 billion in external debt repayments this month, creating significant pressure on foreign reserves.

Earlier, the country has already repaid a $1.4 billion Eurobond, underscoring the urgency of additional inflows to support liquidity levels.

Officials said maintaining adequate reserves remains a key priority amid ongoing repayment obligations and external financing needs.

Meanwhile, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have recently discussed broader economic cooperation, including oil financing facilities, investment expansion, and trade ties during high-level meetings held in Islamabad.

During a recent visit by Saudi Finance Minister Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Jadaan, Pakistan sought a $5 billion loan facility and an extension of oil financing support for another five years.

Officials said Riyadh has already reaffirmed its commitment to continued financial cooperation, which Islamabad views as critical for macroeconomic stability in the coming months.
