On the occasion of Pakistan Day, in their messages to the nation, the President and the Prime Minister reaffirmed their commitment to unity, solidarity, and development while paying tribute to the struggle of the forefathers who worked for the creation of Pakistan.
Asif Ali Zardari, in his message on Pakistan Day, congratulated the nation and said that on March 23, 1940, the Muslims of the subcontinent laid the foundation for the creation of an independent homeland. He stated that today we pay tribute to the struggles and sacrifices of our ancestors.
The President added that after the establishment of Pakistan, the nation faced numerous challenges, but overcame them through hard work, skill, and mutual cooperation. He said that Pakistan has strengthened itself by achieving defense and nuclear capabilities, making it invincible, and actions will continue against those who seek to harm the country’s peace. He described the Kashmir issue as an unfinished agenda of the partition of the subcontinent and urged the international community to ensure its resolution in accordance with UN resolutions, while also calling for an end to the atrocities against the Palestinian people.
In his message, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that after the creation of Pakistan, the nation demonstrated extraordinary determination and made the country a nuclear power. He noted that despite challenges, Pakistan is being steered towards development, and the armed forces remain committed to defending the country’s sovereignty. He emphasized that the journey toward building a strong and prosperous Pakistan will continue.
