By defeating South Africa in the second quarter-final by five wickets, Pakistan won the Hong Kong Sixes 2025 second quarter-final.

The game was played in the Mission Road Ground of Mong Kok where Pakistan dominated the game with the bat and ball.

Captain Abbas Afridi won the toss and chose to bowl first. South Africa scored 102 runs at the expense of three wickets in six overs.

Jork van was in the lead with 40 runs, with Bulki Sumjan and Yethan John remained not out on 26 and 29 runs, respectively.

Pakistan was led by Mohammad Shehzad. He took all of the three wickets and held the batters of South Africa in check.

His correct bowling and pace variation prevented South Africa having the opportunity to accumulate huge partnerships.

Going after 103, the Pakistani openers led energetically. Abdul Samad struck a gorgeous 50 off 10 balls. Six huge sixes accompanied his innings and had left the crowd spell struck.

He gave Pakistan the ideal beginning and placed all the pressure on South Africa.

Wicketkeeper-batter Khawaja Nafe was also a good contributor with 36 runs. Captain Abbas Afridi scored 12 runs on two balls by hitting two sixes.

It took Pakistan only 3.5 overs to score 105 runs and win the match. The fast pursuit indicated the confidence and strength of hitting that Pakistan has.

Pakistan went on to win this match hence maintaining their good performance in the tournament. The explosive batting and sharp bowling of the team has contributed to them being a significant threat to all their opponents.

Pakistan will eventually meet the winners of other quarter-finals in the semi-finals.
