Pakistan’s Armed Forces conducted a large-scale military operation during the night of March 4 and 5 along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in Balochistan, targeting positions allegedly used by Tehreek-e-Taliban Afghanistan and affiliated militant groups.
Security sources termed the engagement as a “debilitating punishment,” aimed at targeting what they alleged militant sanctuaries and launch pads used to facilitate cross-border attacks linked to BLA and Fitna ul Hindustan elements.
According to security officials, more than 55 locations were engaged as part of a coordinated and comprehensive response. The operation reportedly involved the use of direct and indirect fire systems, heavy artillery, anti-tank guided missiles (ATGMs), rocket launchers, long-range mortars, and main battle tanks (MBTs).
Engagements were reported across several sectors, including Warsala Sub-Sector, Zhob (Sambaza and Ghudwana sectors), Qila Saifullah, Pishin, Loe Band, Badini, Chiltan Ranges, and Naushki districts, where multiple posts and checkpoints were targeted.
Officials further stated that the operations will continue until the perceived threats are neutralized and deterrence is restored. They reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to defending its sovereignty and ensuring the safety of its citizens.
