Web Desk: Pakistan joined several Muslim nations on Wednesday in issuing a fierce condemnation of Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir following his provocative entry into the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound.

The controversial visit occurred yesterday when the Israeli minister, escorted by a heavy contingent of armed security forces, entered the mosque’s courtyards. The move has sparked a wave of diplomatic backlash across the Middle East and South Asia, with leaders warning of heightened religious tensions in the region.

The Pakistan Ministry of Foreign Affairs released an official statement describing the incident as a direct assault on the sanctity and historical status of the mosque. According to the spokesperson, the intrusion represents a blatant violation of international law and the long-standing status quo governing the holy site.

Furthermore, the Foreign Office emphasized that any attempts by Israeli authorities to alter the religious and legal identity of Al-Aqsa Mosque remain completely unacceptable. Pakistan called upon the international community to take immediate notice of these repeated violations.

Joining the protest, Turkey, Qatar, and Jordan also released strongly worded statements. These nations collectively categorized Ben-Gvir’s actions as a deliberate provocation intended to incite religious sentiment and undermine global legal frameworks.

Jordan, which serves as the official custodian of the holy sites in Jerusalem, warned that such escalations could lead to further instability in an already volatile region.
