Operation Ghazb Lil Haq resumes

Operation Ghazab Lil Haq resumed following a short pause in connection of Eidul Fitr celebrations and requests from Islamic countries. “This pause concluded at midnight between March 23 and 24, Secuirty Forces said.

Last week, Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar had announced that the operation would be temporarily halted at the request of brotherly Islamic countries, including Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Turkey. He had stated that the pause would last from the night between March 18 and 19, 2026, until the night between March 23 and 24, 2026.

According to security sources, the operation is an ongoing, precise and targeted military campaign against terrorist leadership, their support and command structures, logistical networks, and facilitators in areas under the control of the Afghan Taliban.

Sources further stated that the operation will continue until its objectives are achieved and until the Afghan Taliban authorities reconsider their policy of prioritizing support for militant groups over the interests of the Afghan people and Pakistan.

The operation was launched last month following increased clashes along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, after Afghan Taliban forces allegedly opened fire at multiple locations, prompting a military response from Pakistan.

Since then, tensions between the two neighboring countries have escalated. The situation further worsened when Afghanistan responded to Pakistani airstrikes with border actions, intensifying the clashes.

Over the past year, both countries have engaged in such retaliatory actions. Pakistan has previously carried out airstrikes inside Afghanistan targeting hideouts of the banned Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) following attacks in Pakistan, including a suicide bombing in Islamabad.
