Pakistani actress Momina Iqbal’s complaint has led the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) to summon a Punjab Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) today.

In her application, Momina Iqbal alleged that a powerful political figure has been issuing death threats to her and her family.

She also shared details of the matter on her Instagram story, stating that she repeatedly filed complaints with NCCIA, FIA, and Punjab Police, but no action was taken due to alleged political influence.

The actress said that instead of receiving justice, she was discouraged, and she and her family are now facing serious threats.

In her posts, she appealed to Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and other authorities for a transparent and impartial investigation, as well as immediate protection for her family. She also tagged senior officials, government departments, and news channels.

The NCCIA has now summoned both parties for today’s hearing.

Following this, Momina Iqbal thanked Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for taking immediate action on her complaint and providing security to her family, while also requesting that no names be mentioned until she records her official statement.

She further stated that she has been receiving messages from other women claiming they were also harassed by the same MPA.

On the other hand, the concerned MPA has also registered a separate FIR in his home district on the complaint of his cousin against unknown persons over alleged threats.

Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Punjab’s first female Chief Minister, has vowed not to compromise on the protection and rights of women under any circumstances. With the announcement of the Women Protection Force, she is turning a long-held dream into reality, promising to create a safer environment where no woman will be subjected to coercion or violence.
