Web Desk: The Meteorological Department has forecast rain and pleasant weather across several regions during Eid-ul-Fitr 2026, promising a refreshing break for citizens, officials said.
Director General Mehr Sahbzad Khan said a strong spell of rain will affect the country’s northern and central areas over the holiday period. He added that cities from Islamabad to Multan may experience intermittent showers, while Peshawar, Chitral, and Gilgit-Baltistan could see rain for three to four consecutive days.
Experts described the rain as a natural “gift” for those observing Ramadan, enhancing the festive mood.
The Meteorological Department said temperatures are unlikely to rise significantly immediately after Eid, keeping the heat moderate and the weather generally pleasant. During Ramadan, the country experienced alternating warm, cold, and mild spells, but the forecast predicts more stable, enjoyable conditions for the holiday.
Officials added that rainfall could continue in the last days of March—29th, 30th, and 31st—spreading from northern areas down to Lahore. Some regions may also experience thunderstorms and strong winds, which will further improve the weather.
Meteorologists noted that rain could ease urban heat and benefit the agricultural sector, particularly in areas facing water shortages. However, they warned that excessive rainfall could harm crops in some locations.
Authorities advised farmers to schedule wheat and other crop harvesting carefully to minimize potential damage. They also urged travelers to consider weather forecasts when planning holiday trips, especially in hilly areas prone to landslides and slippery roads.
The forecast has generated excitement among residents, who look forward to celebrating Eid with cool, pleasant weather that will enhance outdoor and recreational activities.
