Web Desk: Meta has unveiled a new facebook earning initiative aimed at attracting popular content creators, as competition intensifies with rival platforms TikTok and YouTube.

The programme, called the Creator Fast Track, offers financial incentives and expanded audience reach to users with established followings on other social media platforms.

Under the scheme, creators with at least 100,000 followers on platforms such as Instagram, TikTok or YouTube can earn up to $1,000 per month. Meanwhile, those with more than one million followers may receive as much as $3,000 monthly.

However, participants must publish their video content on Facebook to qualify for the payments. The company said the earnings would be guaranteed for the first three months of the programme.

After that period, creators will gain access to Facebook’s broader content monetisation system, while continuing to benefit from increased visibility across the platform.

The move highlights Meta’s efforts to draw high-performing creators away from competitors, particularly TikTok and YouTube, which continue to dominate the influencer economy.

Although Facebook has more than three billion users globally, the platform has struggled to consistently attract top-tier creators, many of whom prioritise short-form video platforms for growth and monetisation.

To address this, Meta is positioning Facebook as a competitive alternative by offering both financial rewards and algorithm-driven reach.

To remain eligible for the programme, creators must post at least 15 reels within a 30-day period. Additionally, the content must be distributed across at least 10 different days.

Meta said the videos do not have to be exclusive to Facebook, but they must be original content produced by the creator. This includes material generated with the assistance of artificial intelligence tools.

Meta said it paid out approximately $3 billion to creators in 2025, marking a 35% increase compared to the previous year. Notably, around 60% of those payments were linked to short-form video content such as reels.

The company’s latest initiative signals a broader strategic push to strengthen Facebook’s position in the evolving creator economy, as platforms compete to secure and retain digital talent.
