Web Desk: Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah will meet on Wednesday after three years as Senegal face Egypt in the Africa Cup of Nations semi final in Tangiers. It will be their first clash since the 2022 Champions League final, when both played for Liverpool.
Mane later joined Bayern Munich and now plays for Al Nassr. Salah has stayed at Liverpool and is still chasing his first AFCON title. He has been in top form in the tournament and has scored four goals to guide Egypt into the semi finals. Salah is eager to end his wait after losing two AFCON finals, including the 2022 loss to Senegal.
Mane already won AFCON with Senegal and feels less pressure this time. Senegal aim to reach another final, while Egypt chase a record eighth title. The two former teammates now stand as rivals, each hoping to lead his country to continental glory.
