Firing on passenger vehicle kills six in Lower Kurram

KURRAM: At least six people lost their lives in a firing incident in the Lower Kurram district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Wednesday.

As per details, the KP police confirmed that the incident occurred in Lower Kurram when unknown assailants opened fire on a passenger vehicle.

The police officials confirmed that the attackers targeted the vehicle when it was travelling through the spot of the incident. The dead bodies have been shifted to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital.

Authorities stated that the gunmen managed to flee after the attack, while a search operation has been launched.

An investigation is under way to identify and trace the perpetrators of the incident.

Yesterday, terrorist attack targeted the Federal Constabulary Headquarters in Bannu early on 2 September 2025, but security forces quickly stopped the attackers, as per a statement issued by the ISPR.

Our men shot back accurately and killed all five assailants. Unfortunately, the firefight resulted in the deaths of six Federal Constabulary and Pak Army soldiers.

The ISPR explained that the clearance operations in the region are still in progress, and those who committed this heinous crime will face justice.

Pakistan’s security forces, standing alongside the nation, remain determined to eliminate Indian-sponsored terrorism. The sacrifices of our brave soldiers and affected civilians strengthen the country’s resolve to protect the nation.

Prior to this, security forces foiled an attack on a police check post in North Waziristan, killing three terrorists belonging to the “Fitna al-khawarij,” while one police officer embraced martyrdom.

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi lauded the forces for foiling the attack. In his statement, he said that sending three terrorists to hell reflects the professionalism of the security personnel.

Naqvi added that the timely action foiled the nefarious designs of the Khawarij terrorists.
