Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, in a tweet, has rejected comparisons between Pakistan’s counterterrorism actions and India’s recent strikes. He said Pakistan’s operations targeted verified terrorist camps of TTP militants along the Afghanistan–Pakistan border.
He termed comparisons with India’s attacks on mosques and madrasas in Bahawalpur and Muridke as false and inappropriate. The minister said Pakistan’s actions were based on credible intelligence and self-defence. He added that the international community, including the United Nations, is concerned about terrorism operating from Afghanistan under Taliban patronage.
Khawaja Asif said daily terrorist infiltrations from Afghanistan into Pakistan are clear evidence of this threat. Referring to the Pahalgam incident, he said India has failed to present any credible evidence so far. He noted that Pakistan had offered an independent and impartial investigation into the incident.
The defence minister said a UN report also clarified that India’s aggression was illegal and unsupported by evidence. He added that Pakistan’s response was fully justified under international law. Khawaja Asif said Pakistan has exposed India and its proxy extremist elements before and continues to do so.
He said Pakistan will counter all doubts and propaganda with facts and transparency.
