Web Desk: Islamabad police have arrested a 20-year-old suspect in connection with the fatal shooting of a Pakistan Air Force group captain who was killed after intervening to stop the alleged harassment of a woman, according to investigative sources.
The suspect, a resident of the Bhara Kahu Road area within the jurisdiction of Khanna police station, has completed education up to the matriculation level and previously worked as a salesman at an electronics shop, the sources said.
According to the investigation, the suspect attempted to force a woman to accompany him. However, she refused, leading to a physical altercation between the two, the sources said.
The group captain reportedly stopped after noticing the confrontation. He intervened and tried to prevent the suspect from forcing the woman against her will, the sources added.
The intervention allegedly enraged the suspect, who then opened fire on the group captain while he was seated inside his vehicle before fleeing the scene, according to the sources.
Authorities later arrested the suspect as part of the investigation. Police have not yet publicly disclosed further details about the case or announced formal charges.
The investigation remains ongoing.
