WEBDESK: The Kartarpur Gurdwara has reopened to the public after restoration work was completed following recent floods.
In a video message, Giani Gobind Singh of Gurdwara Kartarpur announced that the three-day celebrations for the 486th Jyoti Jot anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak Dev Ji began today, 20 September, and will continue until 22 September. The main ceremony will take place on the final day at the Kartarpur Gurdwara.
The administration confirmed that a large number of Sikh pilgrims from Pakistan and abroad have already arrived to take part in the religious events.
However, India has not allowed its citizens to attend this year’s celebrations. As a result, the Kartarpur Corridor remains closed to Indian visitors, and no devotees will be able to travel through Wagah border either.
Giani Gobind Singh said that Kartarpur continues to stand as a symbol of peace, love, and harmony. He added that the Jyoti Jot celebrations aim to spread the timeless message of unity and brotherhood.
The reopening of the holy site has been welcomed by pilgrims and organisers, ensuring that this important anniversary can be observed with devotion and spiritual zeal despite the recent challenges caused by flooding.
