International news agencies reported that Yousef Pezeshkian sent a message on Telegram. He said he received information claiming Mojtaba Khamenei had been injured.
After hearing the news, he contacted friends with connections in relevant circles. Those friends confirmed that Mojtaba Khamenei is safe and in good condition.
Iran’s state television described Mojtaba Khamenei as a “wounded soldier of the Ramadan war.” The report did not explain the type or severity of his injuries.
A report by the New York Times cited three Iranian officials. They said Mojtaba Khamenei sustained injuries.
The officials said he has wounds on his legs. They added that he is conscious and currently in a highly secure location.
