Iran’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Reza Amiri Moghaddam, said that Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir played an excellent role in facilitating negotiations. He expressed deep gratitude to the Government of Pakistan and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for their efforts.
He further said that it was Donald Trump’s misconception that he could engage Iran in negotiations while carrying out actions against Hezbollah.
The Iranian ambassador said that schools and civilians were targeted in Minab, and that the United States and Israel faced defeat after a 40-day war.
Speaking at a ceremony in Islamabad, Ambassador Reza Amiri Moghaddam further said that Pakistan has emerged as a mediator in the negotiations, and Iran entered talks because of its good intentions. He added that Trump says Iran should not be allowed to possess nuclear weapons.
The Iranian ambassador said that Iran’s Supreme Leader has issued a fatwa declaring nuclear weapons as forbidden. He said that at the negotiating table, the Americans demand that Iran should not even be allowed to enrich uranium.
Reza Amiri Moghaddam said that nuclear weapons and uranium enrichment for peaceful purposes are two different things, and that Iran will never bow to the United States and the West.
The Iranian ambassador said that Trump talks “like a madman” from morning till evening, and it was his misconception that he could engage Iran in negotiations while carrying out actions against Hezbollah.
