Web Desk: After the deadly Bondi Beach shooting, claims circulating on social media have surfaced controversy, with many users saying that an Indian account linked to the Research and Analysis Wing (RA&W) was the first to publicly name one of the suspected attackers, Naveed Akram, within minutes of the incident.
That same fake account also circulated what it described as the suspect’s LinkedIn profile, which is fake.
It also fueled the speculation online that how an account can have obtained so quickly information and weather there could be deeper, undisclosed dimensions to the case.
A circulating post can be seen on social media that an account named Baba Banara of RAW India intelligence agency which is being described as propaganda account is said to be the first account reveal the name of the suspect Nadeem Akram after just few minutes of the incident and this account also shared LinkedIn profile of Naveed Akram and attempted to link him to Pakistan, a claim that was later described as fake and misleading by many users.
What actually happened in the incident
According to details, two alleged gunmen who killed 15 people at a Jewish celebration were a father and son the father, a 50-year-old, was killed at the scene while his son 24-year-old is in critical condition in the hospital. The shooting resulted in the death toll to 16 and forty people remain in hospital following the attack, including two police officers who are in a serious but stable condition, police said. The victims were aged between 10 and 87.
