Key Indian player might miss Pakistan clash due to injury

Pakistan and India will face each other in the second Super Four match today in Dubai. Ahead of this crucial clash, the participation of a key Indian player has become doubtful.

According to reports, Indian all-rounder Axar Patel’s availability for the Pakistan-India match on Sunday is uncertain, as he sustained an injury while fielding during Friday’s Group A game against Oman.

If Axar is ruled out of the Pakistan game, India may not be able to revert to the three-spinner combination they have used in all their Dubai matches so far, unless they fly in a reinforcement. Varun Chakravarthy, who was rested for the Oman match with India playing an extra seamer, and Kuldeep Yadav are the two specialist spinners in the squad.

From Group A, India and Pakistan advanced, while Oman and Afghanistan were eliminated.

After a rest day on Monday, Pakistan will meet Sri Lanka in Abu Dhabi on September 23.

The match between Pakistan and India will start at 7:30pm.
