Web Desk: Pakistan’s cricket board (PCB) has penalised fast bowler Naseem Shah after finding him in breach of his central contract, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said on Monday.

The PCB said it had issued a show-cause notice to Naseem Shah on March 27, 2026, seeking clarification over alleged violations. Subsequently, a three-member disciplinary committee reviewed his response and conducted a formal hearing on March 30.

After examining the case, the panel concluded that the player had violated multiple provisions of his contract. As a result, it imposed a fine of 20 million Pakistani rupees, despite noting that Naseem Shah had submitted an unconditional apology.

Meanwhile, the PCB said the cricketer had already parted ways with his social media advisor in connection with the case. In addition, the board announced it would place the advisor on a blacklist, barring him from working with any players under its jurisdiction in the future.

Furthermore, officials indicated that the move aims to prevent similar incidents and reinforce compliance across contracted players.

The board reiterated that it remains committed to enforcing contractual obligations and maintaining professional standards within the sport. It added that safeguarding the integrity of cricket continues to be a central priority.
