Will there be a holiday on August 13 in Islamabad?

Web desk: Islamabad’s administration has declared August 13, Wednesday, a local holiday in the federal capital.

The announcement was made through a notification issued by Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Irfan Nawaz Memon on Tuesday. The holiday will apply within the revenue limits of Islamabad Capital Territory, but offices providing essential services will remain open.

These are the Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI), Capital Development Authority (CDA) and ICT Administration. Additionally, the ICT Police, Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO), Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL), and all hospitals.

The district administration has instructed the concerned authorities, ministries and institutions to sensitise their personnel. And ensure that the announcement is widely spread through the press and media avenues.

As Pakistan celebrates its 79th Independence Day on August 14, preparations are underway to mark the success of Marka-e-haq and Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos in the entire country.

Roads and streets are crowded with stalls selling national flags, badges and many other items coloured green and white.

The colours of the flag are all over everywhere, with citizens gearing up to celebrate Independence Day. Buying various goods to show their celebration.

Celebrations this year are additionally tinged with elation and emotion after Pakistan won Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos and Marka-e-Haq. August is being celebrated with a rare passion and patriotism for the land.

Independence Day is a reminder of sacrifice, unity, determination, and resilience. It is a moment to re-emphasise our dedication to this nation and pay our respects to the efforts of those who won independence.
