Islamabad: Pakistan’s delegation has not left for Doha for talks with the Taliban. According to security sources an international media outlet has reported the arrival of Pakistani delegation in Qatar that is baseless.

Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has categorically said that Islamabad is willing to engage in a dialogue with incumbent Taliban government provided our security concerns are addressed.

Qatar has a known history for hosting and brokering dialogues between the rival parties and this Pakistan Taliban dialogue is set to take place on Saturday

Diplomatic sources claim that it was the Afghan interim government who formally requested Qatar to play the role of mediation between Pakistan and the Taliban

Pakistan took a clear stance stating that negotiations could not proceed unless Afghan soil continues to be used against Pakistan

Pakistan reiterated that it would respond with full force against any terrorist act committed by TTP or allies. Officials clarified that the Pakistani delegation would depart for Doha on Saturday, where talks with the Afghan Taliban regime are expected to take place under Qatari mediation.
