The government has made a major change in the prices of petroleum products, reducing the price of diesel by Rs32.63 per litre while increasing the price of petrol by Rs2.97 per litre. A notification announcing the new petroleum prices has been issued.
According to the notification, the price of petrol has been increased by Rs2.97 per litre, taking the new price to Rs337.51 per litre. Petrol was previously being sold at Rs334.54 per litre.
Significant Reduction in Diesel Price
The price of high-speed diesel has been reduced by a substantial Rs32.63 per litre, bringing the new price to Rs363.06 per litre.
The significant reduction in diesel prices is expected to provide relief to transporters, farmers and other sectors, as diesel prices directly affect transportation and agricultural costs.
New Prices Take Effect
OGRA has issued the notification for the new prices, following which the revised rates for petrol and diesel have come into effect.
Following the increase in petrol prices and the significant reduction in diesel prices, there is now a notable difference between the prices of the two petroleum products.
