Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has seen “good governance” reduced merely to slogans, says Jamaat-e-Islami chief Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman.
Peshawar: Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Emir Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman, criticizing the provincial government’s policies, said that good governance in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has been reduced to mere slogans.
He added that despite one party being in power for the past 14 years, the people of the province are still deprived of basic facilities such as health, education, and fundamental rights.
Addressing a public gathering titled “Change the System” at the stadium in Dir Bala, he said that instead of improving public schools, outsourcing them is clear proof of the rulers’ incompetence.
He further said that the provincial government has promoted corruption and nepotism in 14 years of its rule. The province is suffering from lack of governance, and that law-and-order situation is deteriorating with every passing day.
Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman added that for the past 14 years, people have been deceived through slogans and flags, while the bureaucracy is still running on a colonial-era system and treats citizens as subordinates. He said that justice for the poor has become a dream in the province.
