FM Asim Munir visits Pakistan Ordnance Factories Wah

Field Marshal Asim Munir visited Pakistan Ordnance Factories (POF) Wah, where he witnessed the testing and trials of advanced weapons.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir visited Pakistan Ordnance Factories Wah, Pakistan’s largest defence industrial complex. During the visit, POF’s production capacity, export potential and the organisation’s role in strengthening the country’s defence industrial base were reviewed. Field Marshal Asim Munir was briefed on various departments and operations of POF, as well as the local production of modern military equipment.

According to the military’s spokesperson, the Army Chief and Chief of Defence Forces also witnessed the testing and trials of locally designed and manufactured weapons and ammunition. He was briefed on ongoing initiatives aimed at promoting innovation, self-reliance and enhancing defence production capabilities.

Field Marshal Asim Munir was also briefed on progress in the corporatisation process of POF following the implementation of the DIPRA Ordinance. He was informed about ongoing measures to increase local production and industrial capacity. In particular, he was briefed on the installation of two new industrial plants, which are expected to begin production by the end of this year.

According to ISPR, during the visit, the commitment to promoting self-reliance, local production and technological innovation in Pakistan’s defence sector was reaffirmed.
