First time ever Diwali is celebeated in Pakistan’s Prime Minister House

Diwali Celeberation in PM House

This is the first time ever that Diwali is celebeated in PM House. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Minister for Relegious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Kheal Das Kohistani and other Minority leaders cut the cake in the unprecedented event.

The occasion of Diwali is being celeberated by Hindu community in Sindh, South Punjab and Karachi in full spirits, this is the festival of lights celeberated across the Hindu Community globally. On this auspicious occasion greetings arrived from the President, Prime Minister and Provincial Cheif Ministers of Pakistan.

Prtesident Zardari congratulated the Hindu community stating “The Constitution of Pakistan guarantees equal rights and complete religious freedom to all citizens”. He further added “The Hindu community is an important part of Pakistan’s social, cultural, and economic fabric”. President Zardari also praised the role of Hindu Community in the prosperity of Pakistan.


Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif offered his heartfelt congratulations to the Pakistani Hindu Community saying, “The spirit of Diwali that embodies light over darkness, good over evil, and hope over despair inspires our collective resolve to overcome the challenges confronting our societies, from intolerance to inequality.”


A special market has also been set up in Pakistan for the Hindu community on the occasion of Diwali. Hindu community along with their families visited these specially designated markets.


The Sindh government had earlier declared a public holiday for the Hindu community on the occasion of Diwali and hosted the event celebration at the Governor House in Karachi, featuring puja (Hindu Prayer), cake-cutting ceremony and prayers for the country’s prosperity.
